Produced with golden wheat, a wheat used exclusively for the Voiello chain, from the highest protein tenor on the market. Mainly cultivated in the regions of southern Italy in the regions of Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata and Campania.
An ancient mill born in 1879 from the Swiss Theodor Vor Wittell (Teodoro Vojello) to ""Torre Annunziata"" in the province of Naples, but it was his nephew Giovanni who founded the ancient Giovanni Voiello pasta factory in 1879 in a vast land in the Maresca district. At the beginning of the 1900s, Voiello conquered the palates of the Neapolitan aristocracy and spread throughout Italy, reaching record numbers. Although the plant was seriously damaged during the Second World War, the family proved tenacious as the pasta that continued to produce. And in fact, precisely in the immediate post -war period, a new avant -garde plant saw the light. In 1973, while the economic crisis affected Italy, Barilla decided to detect the company shares of Voiello and took over from it, always respecting the autonomy and independence of the production processes that had always guaranteed a quality product. It is thanks to the intervention of an Emilian company that, even today, we can enjoy a dish of pasta like Naples commands.
